Introduction

Welcome to my blog!
In my language arts class, we are learning about Beverley Naidoo! Her books really changed my perspective, so I decided to share my learning, and create a blog all about her. Beverley Naidoo writes about Apartheid. Her stories are based off of real people and their experiences. But she didn’t originally set out to become an author.
Beverley Naidoo was exiled to England for resisting Apartheid (you can read more about this on the biography page), and that’s where she met her husband. He was also a South African Exile. Naidoo began writing stories to educate the outside world about Apartheid, since most people just tried to cover it up. Even though she wasn’t in Africa, this was her way of resisting Apartheid. It was like she was saying, “You can exile me, but you can’t stop me.” Beverley Naidoo wanted to prove that any change, big or small, could impact the world.
You might not understand why Apartheid happened, but Beverley Naidoo wants you realize that you don’t have to be big and important. You can change the world. No matter if you’re young, old, or just a middle school student who picked up her book because it was homework.
Some people will read these books, put them down, and never think of them again. But I was going to take things to the next step. I’m passing along Beverley Naidoo’s knowledge to the next person. Who know’s? Maybe you will be the next activist. You can do anything, if you put your mind to it.

SO GO EXPLORE MY BLOG!!! I HOPE YOU ARE INSPIRED AS MUCH AS I WAS!!!
